My name is April Clark and I have taught for 11 years in three different states, Alaska, North Carolina, and Connecticut. I received a BS in Elementary Education in 2002 and a Masters of Reading Education in 2010, both from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
I am married and have 2 daughters, ages 10 and 3. I enjoy cooking, eating, taking day trips, and hanging out with my family. My family moved to Connecticut on December 26, 2013. We love Connecticut, so we are here to stay!
I have my Bachelor of Arts in History from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT. Following graduation I worked as a product analyst at the Travelers Insurance Company. During that time I realized that I missed coaching and tutoring children, so I went back to school to get my teaching certification. I have my Teaching Certification and Masters Degree of Arts in Elementary Reading & Language Arts from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT.
I live in West Hartford with my wonderful husband who is also a teacher. We live with our dog Dawkins, an energetic, funny and active Catahoula hound. We love to hike and camp as a family. Some other fun facts about me are that I went to Webster Hill as a child. I enjoy swimming and running in my free time. I also love gardening and painting. I am also a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Eagles!
