Central Focus: Developing children's ability to use their bodies in functional ways

K-2 Theme: Challenging students to develop awareness and control of their bodies.
3-5 Theme: Challenging students to apply developing physical skills.
Students in Kindergarten, first, second and third grades attend two thirty minute physical education sessions each week. Students in fourth and fifth grade attend two forty five minute physical education sessions each week and are expected to change their clothes. Morning activities are held from 7:50 AM to 8:20 AM through out the year. These include running club, volley ball, basket ball, and floor hockey. These different activities run for six weeks at a time.
Unified Sports is open to all children who attend Norfeldt's Townwide Special Education Program and all other students in Grades 3-5. Students who choose to participate in this program attend scheduled classes one per month and participate in a State wide Unified Sports Day each spring.
