Introduction
As you read The Missing 'Gator of gumbo Limbo, an Ecological Mystery, you were introduced to many different ecosystems of Florida. Did you wonder how those systems in the book compare to the Florida of 2001? Were you curious as to the status of species, fauna, and insects that are present in the Everglades? This quest will guide you to finding those answers.
Jean Craighead George, the author of The Missing 'Gator of Gumbo Limbo, has asked your class to do some research on issues relating to her book. Ms. George wants more schools to have a background knowledge of ecological issues. She has asked that your class do a bit of research on certain topics, write a brief description and present the information in a Power Point format. Ms. George will then use this presentation when she goes for author talks.
