FLAT STANLEY GOES TO GERMANY

Flat Stanley arrived in Dade City, FL on March 30th to visit Kayla’s Oma and Opa. He came with us to Germany. We left Tampa Airport in a big jet airplane and flew to Frankfurt, Germany. There we were met by Uncle And Cousin. We relaxed the first day or so and had to get used to their time. They are six hours ahead of us.

On Sunday we all went to church. It was built in the late 1300’s. Later in the day there was a big 50th anniversary party for Oma’s Aunt and Uncle. There was lots of good food and 21 beautiful cakes to choose from. It was a hard job, but they were good!

On Tuesday, we went shopping in Rotenburg for Kayla. Flat Stanley found nice pigtail holders also went to a small neighborhood store where Flat Stanley bought candy for the class. Hope you like it.

Later in the week we visited Germany’s oldest college town called Marburg. 1900 students live and study there. We also visited a castle and cathedral built in 1235. Then on to Eisenach where we visited Johann Sebastian Bach’s house and Martin Luther’s home and school and the huge church they attended.

Next day on to Kassel where we visited the Hercules monument, a castle, the devils bridge, a temple, and a huge greenhouse where all the flowers were grown for the castle.

On Good Friday we hiked a mountain and were met with snow, but we made it to the top. You could see miles once the snow stopped.

The Easter Bunny came on Easter Sunday with good chocolate candy and more snow. On Monday we returned to Dade City, tired but happy. Flat Stanley brings you some pictures, postcards and some German money so you might see where he’s been.

Stanley was so well behaved. We enjoyed his company.

Love to all
