Writing  

Writer’s Workshop
By Grace and Elisabet

In Writer’s Workshop, we write lots of stories.  We write problems and make them go away at the end.  We put in lots of details.

Math  

Place Value

We make really big numbers with place value blocks.  We learned three place value games.  They helped us learn numbers.  Math is cool!

Counting Clubs

We are doing Counting Clubs!  It is a lot of fun!  We can count to 100 by 1s, 5s, and 10s and to 20 by 2s.  We do it every day!

Money Math

We know how much the coins are worth.  We did a project to see how much we are worth!  We are trading money.  We know how much our parents are worth, too.  We have been singing more money songs.

Reading  

Stone Soup

We read three versions of Stone Soup!  We are doing lots of stone soup activities.  We had a stone soup snack and a stone soup soup!  Stone soup is very good!  

Spelling

Spelling has been fun!  We use shaving cream to write words on our desk.  We can write longer and longer words!  We write the different syllables, too!

Science and Social Studies

Crickets

We have crickets in our room!  When they have babies, they are called larvae.  They have a head, a thorax, and an abdomen.  The  male crickets sing.

Maps and Globes

We learned the seven continents.  We made a map of our classroom.  We learned about the oceans:  Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, and Arctic.  The equator goes through the middle of our earth.
