Leonardo Da Vinci

By ZACHARY

Hi! I’m Leonardo Da Vinci and I am a very famous artist. I was born in Vinci, Italy on April 15, 1452. I am famous for my beautiful art. I am also an architect, a musician, a sculptor, an inventor, and a mathematician.

I am the son of Sir Piero Da Vinci. My last name is Vinci because I was born in Vinci, Italy.  I loved to draw the country side near my house when I was young. When I was older I would write my words backwards in order to keep my notes safe. I learned to do my great art at Verocchio’s Workshop which is in Florence, Italy.

I painted the most famous painting ever painted, I’m sure you’ve heard of it! The Mona Lisa! I painted it in 1503, which was over 500 years ago! The Mona Lisa, can be found in the Louvre Museum which is in Paris. I invented the concept of the helicopter and the three barrel cannon, which later became the machine gun. I also invented the glider and I was the first person to draw the inside of a human body. I was also the first person in the world to draw Mary playing with Jesus while smiling.  I also painted the Last Supper. It took me from 1495 to 1497 to complete the painting.

I filled about 100 notebooks and about 13,000 pages with ideas for my inventions and art. Only about 7,000 pages are with us today. Most people think I died on May 2, 1519 and was 67 years old, but really I am 556 years old and as you can see, I’m still alive today.
