Mrs. Barbara Peck
Kindergarten children come to our school eager to learn, with a sense of wonder and a "can do" attitude. All we do at
Webster Hill builds upon these strengths so that our fifth graders leave with the confidence and the self-esteem that comes with academic
and social success.
In order to accomplish this, we work in close partnership with our families, provide a sound foundation in the basic skills and provide
opportunities for experiences in the fine and performing arts. We are dedicated to meeting the individual needs of our children so that they
can reach their potential.
The creative energies of our parents, students and staff built the first butterfly house in the state, part of our
Living Courtyard that also houses a SchoolNet 8 weather station, annual and perennial gardens and composting. Each summer and
fall, we raise Monarch butterflies that are tagged and released through the University of Kansas Monarch Watch program.
Some interesting statistics about our school:
- Over two hundred parents, neighbors and relatives volunteer in classrooms, on field trips, in the office or as committee members.
- Our Living Courtyard Project received an award for excellence from the Elementary and Middle Schools' Association of Connecticut.
- We are the recipient of numerous business and educational grants.
"If you believe it you can achieve it" is our motto and you will see it in action every day at Webster Hill School.
With warm personal regards,
Barbara A. Peck, Principal
