Who is the PTO? We're the parents, teachers and staff of Morley School. Morley has a very active PTO.
What is the purpose of the PTO? The PTO works to support the school, enhance the learning experience for all children, and strengthen the community bond. The PTO sponsors many fun events throughout the year. Some are fundraisers, but others are just social functions that bring the community together.
What happens at meetings? Monthly meetings are held to go over our budget, get updates on the events and happenings, and to get a state-of-Morley report from our principal. General PTO meetings are open to all Morley parents, teachers and staff. New ideas and opinions are welcomed and encouraged.
What commitment do I have to make? Our programs and events are organized, funded and run by our members. We invite you to participate through membership dues and by volunteering. A great variety of volunteer opportunities are available. We have everything from leadership roles to set up/clean up at events. You don't have to commit to a large number of hours. Many events require manpower at tables, baking or just making telephone calls. Volunteer as many or as few hours as you would like. The more volunteers, the easier the task!
Why should I join the PTO? We need your support to continue to have events like the Harvest Dance, Bingo Night, the infamous Morley Family Picnic (to name a few), as well as bring in funds to award grants to our teachers for enhancements they otherwise would not have in their classrooms.
It's also a great way for busy families to get together socially - both kids and parents have begun lasting friendships at PTO functions!
