Looking for a Preschool program for your child?

Lottery Applications are now being accepted for the 2008-2009 school year. 

We are looking  for typically developing students to participate as peer role models in our half-day preschool program. 

All applicants must be 3 years old by September 15, 2008.  Program is held at Whiting Lane and Aiken Elementary Schools.

The Early Learning Center (ELC), sponsored by the West Hartford Public Schools, offers a continuum of services to West Hartford preschoolers (ages 3-5), parents, and community preschools. 

 

Services may include:

  • consultation to parents and/or community-based preschools

  • observations of preschoolers pertaining to one or more developmental areas of concern

  • evaluations of preschoolers in one or more developmental areas of concern

  • participation in the ELC program for eligible preschoolers and typically developing peer models

A referral to the Early Learning Center can be made if a child's preschool teacher, pediatrician, or early childhood professional has raised concerns about one or more of the following areas:

  • speech/language development
  • fine/gross/sensorimotor development
  • attention, focus, self-help skills
  • cognitive/pre-readiness development
  • social-emotional development/behavioral functioning
