Author in Residence

This year third graders will have the opportunity to work with an author in residence, John Himmelman.  John Himmelman resides in Killingworth, Connecticut and is an author of over 65 children and adult books.  He is a naturalist that focuses on his observations of nature in action.  He will share his creative writing process as a model for aspiring third grade writers.  If you would like to learn more you can visit www.johnhimmelman.com 

              Taste of West Indies                   

In June we will culminate our study of the West Indies

culture with a taste of West Indies.  This will include a

variety of Jamaican food including beef patties, chicken

patties, veggie patties, and cocoa bread.  YUM!
