Information Technology Goals

Goals 1, 2, 3, 4 - NETWORK SUPPORT Goals 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 - CURRICULUM SUPPORT Goals 9, 11 - COMMUNICATIONS

Goal 1: Complete basic network infrastructure implementation at all schools

Goal 2: Maintain, standardize and improve network infrastructure

Goal 3: Provide a secure and stable network to support instructional and administrative educational technologies

Goal 4: Provide for a well-maintained, appropriate and balanced computer inventory for administrative and instructional purposes

Goal 5: Provide guidance and support in the evaluation and selection of curriculum software that enhances and integrates with district curriculum goals in order to maximize student achievement

Goal 6: Provide ongoing professional development activities in all areas of instructional and administrative computing activities

Goal 7: Support the integration of software into the curriculum and related professional development through information technology infusion models and measurements

Goal 8: Develop evaluation and measurement processes to document the impact of educational technology on student achievement

Goal 9: Utilize technology for increased communications within and among WHPS, Town and community, as well as provide information regarding educational programs

Goal 10: Identify and support emerging needs and special applications within the district

Goal 11: Provide district-wide information technology policies that support the ethical use of computer technology and clarify the purpose of technology within instructional and administrative areas

ONGOING EVALUATION Involve Computer Users Group, Principals, Teachers, Parent Technology Committees, Library Media Specialists and other stakeholders in ongoing evaluation, feedback and analysis.
