Vision - Department of Curriculum and Instruction:

Curriculum and instructional practices inspire a passion for learning that has no boundaries.

Objectives:

This grant program is designed to help educators identify ways to use technology as a meaningful learning tool and develop strategies to foster the integration of technology with our curriculum.

When technology becomes part of the learning environment, the roles of teachers and students change, activities become more project-based, and student-directed learning occurs. Recognizing this, our grant program is designed to help educators develop new ways of managing learning tools, classroom time, information, curriculum and assessment (CT Teacher Competencies).

Student learning is our prime objective. All students must be able to use information and technology to research, communicate and create in order to enable them to succeed in a changing society and world.

While the District’s Performance Standard in Technology focuses on high school graduation, it is recognized that developing these competencies is a cumulative process and that responsibility for attaining them is shared throughout the district, K-12.

We recognize that teachers in a professional learning community such as ours regularly collaborate with their colleagues. Therefore, we support collaboration in this grant process
