Grant Guidelines

 

 

 

 

 

Eligibility: Certified professional educators employed by the West Hartford Board of Education are eligible to apply for the Lighthouse Technology Grant for implementation within the West Hartford Public Schools
 

Available grants: two $5,000 grants to support the integration of technology in our schools
 

Grant funds may be used to purchase: computer hardware (desktop – laptop – handheld), other instructional technology hardware (not specifically computer), software, peripherals (printer – scanner – digital camera, etc.), professional development and / or specialized training
 

Application process:

  1. Download, complete, and print an application
  2. Acquire the signature of Department Supervisor and Principal
  3. Bidders’ Conference: January 12, 2006; 3:45 PM; Education Center, Board Room (informational: attendance optional)
  4. Application due date: February 28, 2006 by 4:00 PM

Grant application expectations:
 

  • Sharing of the best practices through department, grade level, building meetings, CSI course offerings
  • Culminating Project/Program Report with outcomes and recommendations. Based on this report, written curriculum work may be required. (Additional funds will be provided to support curriculum writing/revision.)

Grant application suggestions:

  • Collaborative projects or programs are encouraged
  • Projects/Programs should focus on student use and learning
    (how will students benefit?)
  • Link expectations of project/program to National / State Standards

Grant Application/Selection Timeline:

  • Bidders’ Conference: Jan. 12, 2006; 3:45 PM; Education Center, Room 207
  • Application Due Date:  February, 28th 2006 by 4:00 PM
  • Grants to be awarded and activities to commence:  Spring 2006
